Welcome to ExamVine. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the ExamVine website (https://examvine.com), the ExamVine mobile application, and all related services (collectively, the “Service”) operated by ExamVine, a proprietary micro enterprise registered under Udyam Registration Number UDYAM-TS-25-0067520.

By accessing or using ExamVine, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. About ExamVine

ExamVine is an educational technology platform that provides:

  • Study Notes: Comprehensive topic-wise study material for competitive examinations
  • Practice Questions: Topic-wise practice questions with detailed explanations
  • Previous Year Questions (PYQ): Curated past exam papers organized by topic and year
  • Mock Tests: Full-length and subject-wise mock tests simulating actual exam conditions
  • AI-Powered Learning: Intelligent topic discussions and doubt resolution
  • Current Affairs: Daily current affairs articles and quizzes
  • Analytics: Performance tracking and personalized insights
  • Community: Discussion forums and study groups (available in the mobile app)

ExamVine currently covers the UPSC Civil Services Examination, with additional exams (NEET, and others) to be added in the future.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 16 years of age to use ExamVine.
  • By creating an account, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Creation

You can create an ExamVine account using:

  • Phone Number + OTP: Your phone number serves as your primary identifier. A one-time password (OTP) is sent via SMS for verification.
  • Google Sign-In: You can sign in using your Google account. We receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
  • Email + Password: You can register with an email address and password.

Your account is shared across the ExamVine website and mobile app. Logging in on either platform gives you access to the same data, subscriptions, and progress.

3.2 One Account Per Person

Each user should maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent free-tier limits or exploit promotional offers is a violation of these Terms and may result in account suspension.

3.3 Account Security

  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • Do not share your login credentials with others.
  • Notify us immediately at support@examvine.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
  • We use JWT-based authentication with 30-minute access tokens and 90-day refresh tokens. Sessions may expire and require re-authentication.

4. Subscription Plans & Payments

4.1 Free Plan

ExamVine offers a Free plan with limited access to features (see the Pricing page for details). The Free plan is available indefinitely and requires no payment.

4.2 Premium Plans

All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of all applicable charges. As ExamVine does not currently hold a GSTIN (turnover below ₹20 lakhs threshold), no GST is charged separately.

4.3 Payment Processing

  • Payments are processed securely through Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway.
  • We accept payments via credit/debit cards, UPI, net banking, and digital wallets as supported by Razorpay.
  • ExamVine does not store your card numbers, UPI IDs, or banking credentials. All payment data is handled directly by Razorpay.

4.4 Auto-Renewal

  • Subscriptions are set to auto-renew by default.
  • You will receive email reminders 7 days and 1 day before renewal.
  • You may disable auto-renewal from your account dashboard at any time before the renewal date.
  • If auto-renewal fails (e.g., insufficient funds), your subscription will expire and your account will revert to the Free plan.

4.5 Price Changes

  • We reserve the right to change subscription prices at any time.
  • Price changes will not affect your current active subscription period.
  • You will be notified via email at least 15 days before any price change takes effect for renewals.

4.6 Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy. In summary:

  • 7-day conditional refund from the date of purchase
  • Must not have accessed more than 20% of premium content
  • First-time refund request only per plan type
  • Refunds processed within 5-7 business days

5. Acceptable Use

5.1 You Agree To:

  • Use ExamVine only for personal, non-commercial educational purposes.
  • Provide accurate information in your profile and during registration.
  • Respect other users in community features (forums, study groups).
  • Report bugs, errors, or inappropriate content through the provided channels.

5.2 You Agree NOT To:

  • Share or redistribute ExamVine’s study materials, questions, or mock tests in any form (screenshots, downloads, printouts, or digital copies).
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or download content from ExamVine.
  • Attempt to bypass free-tier limits, subscription checks, or access controls through any technical means.
  • Share your account credentials with others or allow multiple people to use a single account.
  • Post offensive, abusive, or illegal content in community features.
  • Impersonate other users, ExamVine staff, or exam authorities.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the ExamVine application or API.
  • Use ExamVine content for commercial purposes such as coaching, tutoring, or creating competing products without written permission.

5.3 Consequences of Violation

Violation of these terms may result in:

  1. Warning via email for first-time minor violations.
  2. Temporary suspension of your account (with a specified duration).
  3. Permanent termination of your account for severe or repeated violations.
  4. Legal action in cases of intellectual property theft or commercial misuse.

No refund will be issued for accounts terminated due to Terms violations.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Content

All content on ExamVine — including study notes, questions, explanations, mock tests, AI-generated responses, user interface design, logos, and branding — is the intellectual property of ExamVine or its content licensors, protected by Indian copyright and intellectual property laws.

6.2 User-Generated Content

By posting content in ExamVine’s community features (forums, study groups, comments), you:

  • Retain ownership of your original content.
  • Grant ExamVine a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and moderate your content within the Service.
  • Acknowledge that content you post may be visible to other users.
  • Are responsible for ensuring your posts do not violate others’ intellectual property rights.

6.3 Exam Questions Disclaimer

Previous Year Questions (PYQs) featured on ExamVine are sourced from publicly available exam papers conducted by government bodies (UPSC, etc.). ExamVine organizes, categorizes, and provides explanations for these questions as an educational resource. Copyright of the original questions belongs to the respective examination authorities.

7. Disclaimers

7.1 Educational Purpose Only

ExamVine is a supplementary study tool. We do not guarantee:

  • Selection or qualification in any competitive examination.
  • Accuracy of all content at all times (though we strive for accuracy and correct reported errors promptly).
  • Specific scores or improvements in exam performance.

7.2 Service Availability

  • ExamVine is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
  • We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
  • Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible.
  • We are not liable for service interruptions caused by factors beyond our control (internet outages, device issues, third-party service disruptions).

7.3 AI-Powered Features

  • AI-generated content (topic discussions, explanations) is provided as an educational aid and may occasionally contain errors.
  • Users should cross-reference AI-generated content with authoritative sources.
  • AI features are subject to daily usage limits based on your subscription plan.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • ExamVine’s total liability for any claim arising from the use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to ExamVine in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • ExamVine shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
  • This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise).

9. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to:

  • Add, modify, or remove features at any time.
  • Change the content available under each subscription tier.
  • Discontinue the Service with 30 days’ notice to active subscribers (with pro-rated refunds for any unused subscription period in such case).

10. Modifications to These Terms

  • We may update these Terms from time to time.
  • The “Effective Date” at the top will be updated.
  • For material changes, we will notify users via email or in-app notification at least 15 days in advance.
  • Continued use of ExamVine after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of India.
  • Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation via email (support@examvine.com).
  • If negotiation fails, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
